What is each email template used for?

REACH emails are automatically sent from the system to Supporters for various activities.

The following emails are sent based on supporter interaction with REACH at the time the interaction takes place. These emails can be edited in the Email Templates under Settings.
  • New Sponsorship - sent when a supporter creates a new recurring donation to a sponsorship
  • New Donation - sent when a supporter creates a donation
  • New Campaign - sent when a supporter creates a new campaign
  • Campaign Funded - sent when a campaign a supporter created is fully funded
  • Conversation Update - sent when there is a reply/update to a conversation a supporter initiated
  • Honoree Note - sent to a Honoree email address if provided by the supporter giving a donation    
The following email is sent based on supporter interaction with REACH at the time the interaction takes place. This email use the Default Supporter Email Template* in the Accounts Email Templates under Settings:
  • Cancelled Recurring Donations - sent when a supporter cancels a recurring donation / sponsorship or when the Ends On date set by an admin has been reached.
The following emails are sent by the system once a day as needed, usually early in the morning. 
  • Daily Supporter Update - based on information updated such as messages, albums, etc. tied to sponsorships, projects, and places the supporter donates towards. Uses the Daily Supporter Update Template.  
    NOTE: As of February 2020, the Daily Supporter Update Email is disabled by default for new REACH Accounts. You can turn on or off this option by going to Settings / Account Rules and updating the checkbox for "Enable Supporter Daily Digest Email".
  • Failed Transaction - sent when a recurring transaction payment fails. Uses the Failed Recurring Donation Email Template.
  • Credit Card Expiration - sent one month before an expiration date is reached on a credit card on file. Uses the Default Supporter Email Template*.
The Following Emails are sent based on Admin interactions with a Supporter’s account and are sent at the time the interaction takes place. These emails use the Default Supporter Email Template* in the Email Templates under Settings:    
  • Cancelled Sponsorship - sent when an admin cancels a sponsorship for a supporter.
    NOTE: The admin is given the choice whether or not to send the supporter the email. 
  • Cancelled Recurring Donations - sent when an admin cancels a recurring donation for a supporter.
    NOTE: The admin is given the choice whether or not to send the supporter the email.
The Following Emails are sent based on Admin interactions with a Supporter’s account and are sent at the time the interaction takes place. These emails use the Email Template listed found in the Email Templates under Settings:  
  • New Sponsorship - sent when an admin creates a sponsorship for a supporter, uses the New Sponsorship Email Template.  
  • New Donation - sent when an admin enters a donation for a supporter, uses the New Donation Email Template.  
  • NOTE: The admin must choose the "Send email receipt? (If donor's email address is available.)?" option when setting up the recurring donation for both the New Sponsorship and Donation Receipt to be sent.
The "Forget your password?" and "Credit Card About To Expire" Emails do not use a REACH Email Template.  These emails are not blind copied to the REACH Account email for the organization.  These Emails uses a standard template with the organization's logo and the information needed for the Supporter to set/re-set their password or update their payment information.

*NOTE: The Default Email Template is used for several emails from your REACH account.  When making edits or additions to the Default Email Template, make sure the information added is appropriate for all use cases.  The {{ message }} tag is required in the template and will list the message the email is being used for, i.e. Password Update, Cancelled Sponsorship, etc.
