How do we setup our Donation Categories?

Donation Categories lets you manage the categories listed in the "Purpose" drop down box on the Donation page.

Here's how to set up other categories for donations in addition to Projects, Places, and Campaigns:

- Go to Settings > Donation Categories
- Select your Donation Purpose Options
- Click Save Changes

To add a new category:

- Insert a title for the new category under Add Category
- Choose if its taxable and/or hidden by checking the corresponding boxes
- Click Add Donation Category

Under Active Categories, you will see a listing of your various categories. From here, you can Edit, Hide or Disable the categories by using the buttons.

Under Disabled Categories, you will see a listing of your various disabled categories. From here, you can Edit, Hide or Enable the categories by using the buttons.

From the Order tab, you can drag the options up or down to re-order. Note that the top option will be selected by default for all general donations.

From the Customize tab, you can use the various Donation Form Parameters to specify different options in the donation URL. Multiple parameters can be used when you combine them with the & symbol.

You'll see a list of your Donation Form URLs that should be used to specify the default purpose when directing supporters to the donations page. You can use these URLs when linking directly to a donation page for a specific donation category, campaign, project or place.
