We are a UK-based organization and would like to know if REACH has a Gift Aid option?
Yes, REACH does offer a Gift Aid option for our UK-based organizations.
Gift Aid is a tax relief option that allows UK charities to reclaim an extra 25% in tax on every eligible donation made by a UK taxpayer.
When a supporter donates, they will be asked to confirm whether or not they are a UK taxpayer. Gift Aid can only be reclaimed on donations made by supporters who pay UK income or capital gains tax at a rate at least equal to the amount reclaimed on their donations in the current tax year.
To configure the GiftAid option for your organization:
- Go to Settings > Donation Setup
- Select the Gift Aid tab
- Check the 'Record Gift Aid Eligible Supporters and Donations' box
- Review and/or Edit the pre-filled text box that confirms the supporter is a UK taxpayer
- Once complete, click on the green 'Save Changes' button
Admins can add Gift Aid to a supporter's donation after the donation has been completed. To do so, go into the supporter's donation record and click on the Gift Aid checkbox. This will enable Gift Aid for that supporter for all donations as long as the checkbox remains checked in the supporter's record. To remove Gift Aid, simply uncheck the box.
